La Triennale di Milano provides special services for teachers who wish to bring their classes to the exhibitions and to the Triennale Design Museum, and to take part in TDMKids activities.
Teachers who register at triennale.org receive periodical updates and exhibition calendars and, at the beginning of each school year and when great exhibitions are opened, they are invited to take part in the meetings that present the activities, with special guided tours.
La Triennale can help teaching staff create teaching courses, providing practical information for organising the visit and booking guided tours, as well as meeting special requirements.
Nursery, elementary, and lower-secondary schools
In addition to arranging visits to exhibitions and to the design museum, teachers at nursery, elementary, and lower-secondary schools can book activities with TDMKids, a programme of workshop-visits to the Triennale Design Museum.

La Triennale di Milano and Triennale Design Museum arrange special events for families and children (3-14 years).
With activities for schools and families, TDMKids is the educational section of the Triennale Design Museum. Under the didactic supervision of the Faculty of Primary Education Science of the University of Milan Bicocca, its aim is to teach children about beauty and utility, form and function, and materials and production.
During visits coupled with workshop activities at the Triennale Design Museum, children are invited to touch and try out the objects personally, discovering the history and ideas behind them. Starting out from everyday experiences of the objects, interaction and dialogue with the teachers allows them to find out more about the technical aspects of the objects, and the materials they are made of, as well as their aesthetic and functional qualities.
Together with a number of international designers, TDMKids has created special workshops on particular themes, offering a unique experience and understanding not only of design, but also of the child’s own relationship with objects and things.
Families who wish to come on their own to discover the Triennale Design Museum are offered two forms of assistance during their visit: information panels placed at child height allow young visitors to relate directly and immediately to some of the objects on show. The illustrated book Frisello al Triennale Design Museum acts as their guide, taking them on an adventure in which the protagonist moves around the museum and converses with the works.
Triennale di Milano and Triennale Design Museum offer a special reduced ticket at €2.00 for children aged between 7 and 14 when accompanied by a family member.
The parent has the right to a reduced ticket at €6.50.
Children up to 6 years are offered free admission.
Subject to prior agreement with Ad Artem, special visits can be organised for children.
A project aimed at teaching schools and families, developed with the intention of bringing children to the world of design and to accustom them to learn by playing.
