La Triennale offers special visits and workshops for students and their teachers, to encourage inquisitiveness about the world, to develop a capacity for criticism with regard to society, and to hone aesthetic sensibilities.

Teachers who register for the newsletter receive periodical updates and exhibition calendars and, at the beginning of each school year as well as when major exhibitions are due to be inaugurated, they are invited to take part in the meetings where the activities are presented through special guided tours.

La Triennale can help teaching staff devise teaching courses, providing practical information for organising the visit and booking guided tours, as well as meeting special requirements.

Since 2010, the Education Department of the Design Museum has been introducing children and young people to the world of design by means of interactive tours and workshops, with objectives and content specially created for each school level. The educational activities are supervised by the Riccardo Massa Department of Human Sciences for Education (University of Milano-Bicocca). Our educators accompany the children and young people to explore the Design Museum. Through active discussions about the characteristic features of design, such as the relationship between form and function, techniques, the use of materials and colours, aesthetics, and sustainability, they examine their own relationship with the stories that each object brings with it. The workshops are created together with Italian and international designers with the aim of providing children and young people with a unique experience of understanding not only design but also the way they themselves relate to objects and things.

La Triennale continues its educational activities for schools with guided tours for students and teachers. After trials in 2015, guided tours are now led by trained internal staff, who have studied the exhibitions presented by La Triennale, as well as its history and its key activities. Children and young people are encouraged to participate actively, in order to find out more about the issues examined in the exhibitions and in the various editions of the Design Museum. Visits can be arranged in Italian, English, French and Spanish.
