What Ignorance is

What does the word «culture» really mean?
Nowadays, culture is not just science or history or philosophy: it is all these things, certainly, but it is also much more than the mere sum of different disciplines. We have to look at reality with a multidisciplinary approach, in order to develop, through the means of many different languages, a point of view which must be both solid and continuously developing, clear and open to any other opinion.
In this perspective, the aim of the publishing industry should be giving tools for being «designers of our life», as Sartre said. This is what informs the questions of the most observant audience, attuned more to the contemporary and its complexity than to the mere account of what happens each and every day. Each attempt to renew our society goes through the affirmation of the centrality of the cultural action and through a wider dissemination of culture and therefore of books, which are considered an irreplaceable mean of knowledge.
From history to poetry, from urbanology to art history, from music to cinema, from architecture to anthropology, to the biggest current political and economic topics: how many ways of looking at the world and depict it can be there?
