Several representatives of Korean crafts will exhibit themselves at Teatro Burri: K-BEAUTY discloses Korean make up, famous all over the world for its famous skin care beauty ritual; K-PAPER is devoted to Hanji Korean paper, with workshops for the creation of mirrors, fans and masks; K-Food, offers tasting of traditional Korean cuisine; K-FASHION, displays magnificent Korean traditional dresses; K-CALLIGRAPHY, with a booth for writing in Korean calligraphy on Hanji paper.
Tuesday, May 29 will be devoted to K-TAEKWONDO, the traditional Korean martial art. Born in the ‘40s and ‘50s, Taekwondo is South Korea’s national sport and the world’s most practiced martial art. It is a couple combat techniques for personal defense, practiced as well as an Olympic discipline, but it also entails philosophy and meditation. The first part of the performance, from 6.00 pm to 8 pm – organized in cooperation with the Italian Taekwondo Federation (FITA) – involves the main Sport Clubs of the Lombardy Region, which will perform on the Burri theatre stage just before the WT Demo team. At 20, 14 World Taekwondo athletes will perform a show called “The Eastern Morning”.
On Wednesday May 30th, traditional dance and fashion will come together in K-DANCE&FASHION: starting at 8 pm, the musicians of the Doodulsori Company perform at Teatro Burri with traditional Korean percussion instruments. At 9 pm, the dancers of the Do Dance Company bring on stage the dynamic nature of traditional Korean dance.
