Reopen the Navigli.
SUN, 20 MAY 2018
6 pm - 8 pm
Palazzo della Triennale
The first issue of Report Milan deals with the proposal to reopen the Navigli. In 2018, the Municipality will have to decide whether to follow up on the project to reopen the parts covered around the 1930s in the historic center. The project aims to raise Milan’s urban quality not only from an aesthetic point of view, restoring parts of the ancient building and renewing the public space of the historic center, but also from an ecological and environmental point of view. The Report Milano intends to present the project hypothesis, costs, benefits and critical issues related to this operation that could also strengthen the rapidly growing tourism system of Milan in recent years. The Navigli, integral or partial, hypothesis of reopening can not be read as a project in its own right but must be part of a great overview for the Milan metropolitan area which includes the fate of the belt parks, railway stations, suburbs, new slow and fast mobility infrastructures, and the role of Milan within the urban region.
The Triennale president Stefano Boeri and the city planner Councilor Pierfrancesco Maran will intervene.
The authors of the first issue Stefano Sibilla, Carlo Berizzi and Empio Malara will participate in the debate moderated by Donatella Bollani.
