Project Rapu

RAPu - Rete Archivi dei Piani urbanistici, the Urban Planning Archive Network, is a virtual archive of Italian urban planning.
Launched in 1994 and jointly run by the Milan Triennial and the Milan Polytechnic, RAPu is a project that embraces a multitude of structures, organisations and institutions involved in the promotion and furtherance of urban studies and urban planning documentation. RAPu catalogues, digitally publishes and makes available online Italian urban planning documents (plans, drawings, reports, requirements, attachments, administrative records...) pertaining to multifarious bodies often located far apart.
RAPu is intended to mobilise the historical memory of urban planning techniques and expertise: a vast repository of original documents contributing to the history of urban planning and, therefore, to the shape of Italy's urban landscape as a whole.
The RAPu website is a virtual section of the Triennial's "Biblioteca del Progetto" Design Library. It offers virtual tours of the material stored in its digital archive, gives details of RAPu's editorial publications (available at the library and the bookshop), and provides access to the portal www.rapu.it, where a user-friendly search interface allows you to consult the whole collection with ease.
