Telling almost a century of Italian history through the pictures of 10 great events which moved millions of people, by using the street both as a mean and metaphor: this is the aim of the exhibition Mi ricordo la strada (I remember the street), curated by Emilia Giorgi and Antonio Ottomanelli, which is hosted in the Salone Centrale of the Triennale di Milano from March 8 to 18. The site-specific installation is the top event of the program proposed by Anas to celebrate its ninetieth birthday.

The site specific installation aims at reaching and reviving the collective memory around the archetypical idea of the street and is the top event of the programme proposed by Anas to celebrate its ninetieth birthday. Spectators will have the possibility to revive striking and breakthrough events, such as the landing of the Allied troops in Sicily in 1943, the Olympic games of 1960 in Rome, the Florence flood in 1966, to reach the crowds of the latest Angelus of Pope Benedict XVI and the reconstruction of the Church of Siponto by Edoardo Tresoldi. All the events will be presented in a thematic order, by using the documents from several important public and private archives, and through the works and views of authors such as Olivo Barbieri, Joe Blaustein, Mario Cresci, Gian Piero Frassinelli, Luigi Ghirri, Salvatore Maniscalco, Roberto Masotti, Sergio Musmeci, Pier Lugi Nervi, Filippo Romano, Oscar Savio, Superstudio e Wolfgang Suschitzky

The installation, designed by Studio Folder, will be presented to the press on Thursday, March 8 at 11.30 in the Lab Room of the Triennale.

From April 20 to May 17, the exhibition will be readapted and moved with a truck for a roadshow which will stop in the main Italian cities.
