CollettivO CineticO, winner of the UBU Award 2017 for Best Dance Performance for Sylphidarium (programmed by Triennale Teatro dell’Arte in 2017) presents Benvenuto Umano, last and long-expected production which celebrates the company’s tenth year of activity. The performance is the conclusion of the long-term challenge C/o project, initiated in 2007 with the establishment of the company.
All of Francesca Pennini’s precious elements seem to reappear in this new production. The performers give life to a ritual invented to celebrate and reconnect worlds that are both close and far away: traditional Chinese medicine, Japanese design, anatomy and astrology, paganism and circus, symbols and iconographies inspired by the mysterious frescos of the Salone dei Mesi at the Palazzo Schifanoia in Ferrara.
A project by Triennale Teatro dell’Arte and Teatro Franco Parenti.
CollettivO CineticO was born in 2007 and is directed by choreographer Francesca Pennini in collaboration with more than fifty artist coming from various disciplines. The research of the collective focuses on the nature of the performative event, discussing its mechanisms and using formats which combine choreography, theatre and the visual arts. The company is in residence at Teatro Comunale of Ferrara and has produced numerous creations receiving various awards among which the Jurislav Korenić Award for Best Young Theatre Director, the Premio Rete Critica 2014 for best artist, the Premio Danza&Danza 2015 for best choreographer and interpreter, as well as nominations for Premio UBU for Best performer under 35, Premio Hystrio Iceberg 2016, Premio Mess at BE Festival in Birmingham 2016, Premio Nazionale dei Critici di Teatro for Teatro Danza 2016.
