A secret city, outside of common places and well-trodden routes, emerges from the project Storie Milanesi.
PREMIERE

A secret city, outside of common places and well-trodden routes, emerges from the project Storie Milanesi. It revolves around fifteen figures who have shaped the city’s cultural landscape between the 19th century and today: writers, like Alessandro Manzoni and Lalla Romano, architects and designers, of the likes of Vico Magistretti and Achille Castiglioni, collectors such as Fausto and Giuseppe Bagatti Valsecchi, artists, like Emilio Tadini and Mario Negri – they all offer extraordinary perspectives from which to discover Milan. These fifteen voices speak through just as many emblematic places: neighborhoods, streets, art studios, museum homes.
Storie Milanesi, conceived by Fondazione Adolfo Pini and curated by Rosanna Pavoni, first came to life as a website which collects audio traces and other materials on the figures and places the project revolves around. The writer Gianni Biondillo is the author of the texts.
Following an invitation by Triennale Teatro dell’Arte, these stories are adapted for the theatre for the first time: here they come to life again in Biondillo’s own performance, with musical accompaniment by Painè Cuadrelli and archival images and videos.
