Triennale Teatro dell'Arte
Nomadism is the attribute of the contemporary. On a personal level, it translates in the increasingly freer choice, for those who can make it, of one’s individual conformation, tastes and way of living. On a cultural and artistic level, it leads to the blurring of expressive contexts and languages, which in turn is reflected in a broadening of personal and political visions, which overlap and tangle, producing more and more layers. On a collective level, the capacity to move between different settings, to cross worlds, is a way of dealing with the complexity of reality, which has lost the ability reduce everything to a few, solid reference points, whether ideological or material – or to one’s own vision. It is a nomadism that troubles the very acts of travelling, migrating, wandering, tourism, and their intersections, whether dramatic or reconciled.
Viaggiare Fermi is a homage to A Journey Around My Room by Xavier de Maistre, with the difference that now our room is dominated by the network – and the multiverse comprises all living beings. Through looking and listening in a state of disorientation, the project will entail tracing and exploring new horizons.
The prelude to this aperiodic and undisciplined programme, which dots the Triennale Teatro dell’Arte calendar, were the music and video performances by Soundwalk Collective with Éponine Momenceau presented last March, and by Simone Trabucchi last June – all well-versed in cross –contamination.
