Gian Piero Frassinelli: Design and Anthropology, reflections of a non-expert
September 17 2019, 6.00pm
The anthology of texts in this book collects the reflections of Gian Piero Frassinelli on the relationship between anthropology, architecture and design: thoughts considered, by the same author, unorthodox and unacceptable to many of the specialists of all these three disciplines. Architect and member of the historical Florentine radical group Superstudio, Frassinelli has spent his whole life searching for a point of convergence between built environment and human behavior. Consistently with its entire career, which had been always characterized by a radical approach to design, Frassinelli accompanies us, where uncertainties, doubts and contradictions become fundamental research tools. As noted by the curator Gianfranco Bombaci: «this book is a journey to discover an alternative way to design, which is too often denied or even suffered, to find a new and surprising way towards the realization of objects and spaces».
