Lost World
Paolo Di Paolo
October 28 2019, 7.00pm
First appointment of the new cycle of Lectures, which, since this year, AFIP International organizes in collaboration with GRIN, the National Iconographic Editor Group. Paolo Di Paolo will be in conversation with Giovanna Calvenzi, curator of the monographic exhibition dedicated to him just ended at MAXXI in Rome, and his daughter Silvia: it was the latter to rediscover, about twenty years ago, the archive of his father, doing a hidden treasure re-emerge from oblivion. The one he wisely told is post-war Italy: Di Paolo knew how to capture the moods and characters of ordinary people, movie stars, writers and artists, including Pier Paolo Pasolini, Tennesse Williams, Anna Magnani, Kim Novak, Sofia Loren in their humanity and naturalness, weaving an intimate and delicate path through the reconstruction and rebirth of our country in the Fifties and Sixties.
