February 20 2020, 6.30pm
Triennale Milano presents its new Public Program of lectures, meetings, projects and events covering topics related to contemporary research, to be held throughout 2020 and curated by Leonardo Caffo, Paola Nicolin and Gianluigi Ricuperati. The first Public Program event will take place on Thursday, February 20th at 6:30pm, with the participation of poet Valerio Magrelli and philosopher Gianni Vattimo, who have been invited to start a cycle of lessons on contemporaneity and the meaning of institutions today. These lectures are meant to provide critical information and tools to explore new research opportunities for institutions, starting from their identity. For this reason, the themes and issues raised by the lecturers’ testimonies are completed by materials from the Triennale history archive, selected according to the topics covered, which evoke important moments of its institutional history. During the first event, Valerio Magrelli will address the theme of translation as a poetic act, considering words as a way to express different kinds of knowledge, while Gianni Vattimo retraces the adventure of Postmodernism after forty years.
