Skateboarding, Sports and the Olympic Games
February 4 2020, 11.30am
Featuring the representatives of some Milanese institutions, CONI and the Italian Roller Sports Federation, this talk will start from a reflection on the dual nature of skateboarding as a sport – making its debut at this year’s Olympics – and a lifestyle, and then lead to a broader analysis of the dialogue between cultural and sports institutions in view of the upcoming XXV Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. Speakers will include Stefano Boeri, President of Triennale Milano, Giovanni Malagò, President of CONI, Sabatino Aracu, President of FISR; Roberta Guaineri, Councilor for Tourism, Sport and Quality of Life for the Municipality of Milan, and Claudio Bernardini, founder of Bastard. During the second part of the meeting, teachers Isabella Inti, Riccardo Mazzoni, Irene Toselli and international students of the course “MILANO CORTINA 2027. Strategies and guidelines for post event sustainable living” from the Polytechnic of Milan will talk with institutional representatives and a team of experts and present some of their projects and reflections.
